Seed Saving - Abundant Desert Workshop Series

  • Rancho Cacachilas Corredor Isla Cerralvo El Sargento Mexico (map)

There is nothing more precious on this earth than a seed - the small beginnings of foods that will grow to nourish us. Access to organically grown, heirloom, untreated seeds are hard to find in Baja California Sur, and the best way to ensure you have a garden or farm next year, is to save your own seeds. We will teach you how to plant a garden with seed saving strategies to avoid cross pollination, how to select the best plants and save viable seed, and how to store them properly.

Sustain healthier and stronger plants in your garden each year by learning to produce your own organic heirloom seeds! We will teach you how to plan your garden to ensure your varieties remain pure, techniques on how to efficiently save seeds from a variety of crops, and our best practices to dry and store your seeds for longevity and vitality. You will even go home with some seeds from our acclimatized mother plants 🌱

Transportation to and from the RC Mountain and Bike Hub in El Sargento is included as well as a fresh and organic farm-to-table meal!

DATE: March 27, 2020 (remember, if you cannot make it you can always plan any of our workshops at a different date with a minimum of six participants)
TIME: 9AM-2PM
COST: $75 per person
