The Rancho Cacachilas Bike Hub in El Sargento was open for its first season from January 30 through June 3, 2017. The Hub will reopen for the next season on October 1, 2017.

In addition to offering a bicycle shop for buying, renting and repairing equipment, The Hub provides opportunities for exceptional outdoor experiences unique to Baja California Sur. Led by our knowledgeable guides, visitors can learn about the cultural, mining and natural history of the Sierra Cacachilas. Guided hiking, mountain biking (MTB), day tours, camping, overnight trips, wine and cheese tastings and organic gardening activities are some of the ways that guests can explore the private, working ranches of Rancho Cacachilas. Dos Hermanos

In this tour you learn about ranch life on one of our ranches, Rancho Dos Hermanos. You experience firsthand how we aim to preserve the heritage and integrity of the land and peoples while adapting it to low impact development and economic vitality. Enjoy our fresh, organic produce and homemade products with an artisnal cheese and wine tasting followed by a home-cooked meal. Finish the day with evening star gazing and the opportunity to learn about the night sky.

Santa Rosa Trail

Experience the pride of Rancho Cacachilas, a phenomenal 9.1-kilometer (5.7-mile) single track trail designed by International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) and built by our carefully trained crew. The loop winds its way through the mountains passing large boulders and oases of palm trees. Feel the adrenaline as you descend serpent switchbacks and reward yourself with stunning views of the Sierra, the sea and the sky.

Ride & BBQ Day

Once a week, we are delighted to invite mountain bikers to spend the day with us in the mountains of Rancho Cacachilas. Come and ride the beautiful Santa Rosa trail as many times as you wish throughout the day. To keep you fortified, we offer a hearty, home-cooked barbecue and beer, served at Las Canoas, the historical ranch that is located along the trail, nestled in a palm-lined canyon. Ride the trail, take a break, and then ride again!

Sky TRAIL

This 10.6-kilometer (6.6-mile) skyline hike leads you along a beautiful ridge reaching 1000 meters (3000 feet) above sea level. Along the way, we pause for a refreshing lunch and beverages. Enjoy striking 360º panoramic views of the region, including views of Los Planes, La Ventana, El Sargento, Isla Cerralvo and several mountain ranges. (See the above photo, as well as the panorama with two hikers in hats.) The trail ends at Las Canoas, a historical homestead located in a peaceful canyon in the heart of the Rancho Cacachilas property.

MIDDLE Mountain Trail

This gentle hike of 4 kilometers (2.3 miles) starts at Rancho Chivato and makes its way along the middle section of the mountain and offers views of La Ventana Bay, Isla Cerralvo and surrounding mountain ranges. En route you pass by remains of gallery-style mines, and learn about mining activities that took place from the early 1700s to the early 1900s. Ending at Rancho Dos Hermanos, you experience a working ranch, where we raise livestock, grow fruits and vegetables, and produce our own cheeses and other delicious foods. We end the excursion with a cheese and wine tasting, followed by a homemade lunch that includes our seasonal produce.
